As Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Broker of Capital Real Estate Group, John Thornton provides strategic office & industrial space advisory services for Fortune 500, professional firms and emerging technology growth companies in Atlanta and in the U.S. He focuses primarily on helping companies reduce their occupancy costs, solve their complex office space problems and strategize for future growth across their real estate portfolio.

Mr. Thornton brings to the table over 18 years of exclusive leasing experience; he is known for his unparalleled service to all of his clients, his attention to detail, and his ability to solve any real estate problem that a company may have. In his real estate career, Mr. Thornton has consummated more than 1000 lease and/or sale transactions within the Metro Atlanta area and the United States.

Prior to founding Capital Real Estate Group, Mr. Thornton was a Vice President at CBRE, Inc. where he was in the Office Tenant Representation group for seven years and prior to CBRE, Inc. part of the Office Tenant Representation group at Colliers International for three years.

Mr. Thornton is married to his wife Pierson and they have two children, Charlotte and John III. He attends Northside United Methodist Church, is an avid golfer and loves the outdoors. He has coached both youth football and baseball at Northside Youth Organization. Additionally, he volunteers at The Westminster Schools as a member of the Young Alumni Board.
